Local Investing Networks (LINs)
LINs are networks, not organizations. Each investor makes their own investment decisions, including the risk they are will to accept. LION pioneered the concept and implementation of a LIN, and other communities have built on our knowledge and experience to start their own LIN.
To assist other communities to develop LINs in Washington the WSU Extension and the Association of Washington Cities prepared a LIN Field Guide which provides detailed steps and templates to create a LIN. The WSU Extension Division of Government Studies and Services maintains a Local Investment Networks webpage with helpful information and links. For more information contact Anthony Gromko anthony.gromko@wsu.edu
In close coordination, the Washington State Microenterprise Association convenes a monthly Community of Practice virtual gathering of WA LINs to share knowledge and plans. Guests are welcome to participate. For more information contact Lisa Smith lisa@wamicrobiz.org
A key success factor to establishing a LIN is a critical mass of local members committed to Impact Investing. As LINs are networks, they have little or no organizational infrastructure and operating expenses. LION is run entirely by volunteers with administrative support provided by EDC Team Jefferson.
